On Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. CDT, the UNI eLearning System will be UNAVAILABLE while application server maintenance is performed. There are no changes to the UNI eLearning (Blackboard Learn) software.

In order to expedite the migration of Blackboard Learn to the cloud, it is necessary to remove older courses not in use. On May 1, 2018, we will be archiving (backing up) and removing all SEMESTER BASED COURSES on UNI’s Blackboard Learn system that are Fall 2014 semester and older. Courses that are not semester-based (GIS, training courses, etc.) will not be removed.

This next fall, UNI’s Blackboard Learn system will be migrating to the cloud. This will give UNI several advantages over our self-hosted Blackboard Learn system. To learn more and to see a timeline, visit our Blackboard Learn SaaS webpage.

On Friday March 30, 2018 from 5:30 am to 6:30 am, IT will be performing network maintenance.  There will be brief disruptions of service to the data center and the internet. This  may cause interruptions with connectivity to the UNI eLearning System.

COMPLETED: At 11:35 a.m. CDT, Blackboard said "The AWS migration is now complete and the SafeAssign service is back to operating normally.".
UPDATE: At 9:50 a.m. CDT, Blackboard said the 'The scheduled AWS migration for SafeAssign is still ongoing. We expect approximately one additional hour of downtime to complete the migration process."
On Saturday, April 2, 2018 from approximately 2 a.m. CDT to 9 a.m. CDT, Blackboard will be performing scheduled maintenance on SafeAssign. During this time, the service will be UNAVAILABLE to accept papers and any student submissions made during this period will not receive Originality Reports.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, the Central Authentication System (CAS) experienced an unexpected outage from approximately 10:27 am to 12:20 pm that prevented UNI users from logging into Blackboard Learn, Panopto, MyUNIverse, Email, etc. We apologize for the inconveniences this outage caused.

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. CDT, the UNI eLearning System will be UNAVAILABLE to apply security related patches to the application servers. There are no changes to the Blackboard Learn (eLearning) software.

On Saturday March 17, 2018 from 10 AM to 4 PM CDT, the Turnitin Application in eLearning (Blackboard Learn) will be unavailable to UNI users while maintenance is performed.  This maintenance will include several hardware updates and performance improvements.

On Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. CST, UNI users will be unable to log into the UNI eLearning (Blackboard Learn) System while maintenance is performed to patch multiple production infrastructure databases and application services that are responsible for CatID services.
