On Saturday March 17, 2018 from 10 AM to 4 PM CDT, the Turnitin Application in eLearning (Blackboard Learn) will be unavailable to UNI users while maintenance is performed.  This maintenance will include several hardware updates and performance improvements.

On Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. CST, UNI users will be unable to log into the UNI eLearning (Blackboard Learn) System while maintenance is performed to patch multiple production infrastructure databases and application services that are responsible for CatID services.

On Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. CST, the UNI eLearning System will be UNAVAILABLE to update application server software and to apply security-related patches to the database. There are no changes to the Blackboard Learn (eLearning) software.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. CST, the UNI eLearning System will be UNAVAILABLE to apply security related operating system patches on the application servers. There are no changes to the Blackboard Learn (eLearning) software.

Around 10:15 a.m. CST today, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, the UNI eLearning (Blackboard Learn) System experienced performance issues that caused slow page load times or unresponsiveness for end users. The performance issues continued to get worse, so an emergency rolling restart was performed to apply the Bb Support recommended setting patch that was originally planned for tomorrow morning. Users should have seen performance improvements around 11:20 a.m. CST and the system return to normal around 11:40 a.m. CST. We apologize for the inconveniences this performance issue has caused.

(Canceled) On Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. CST, the UNI eLearning System will be UNAVAILABLE to restart the application to apply a setting change to enhance performance of the system.

A few reminders for the start of the semester...

All UNI users:

  • New Look and Feel: With the software upgrade on December 21, 2017, Blackboard Learn (UNI eLearning) has a new look and feel. The new interface offers greater accessibility to a diverse range of users, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers or magnifiers, making navigation more friendly. For more details on the new look and feel in Blackboard Learn, please visit our Blackboard 2016 Theme webpage.
  • Login Instructions: If you are new to Blackboard Learn (UNI eLearning), please visit our Login Instructions for all UNI users webpage for steb-by-step login instructions.

Instructors: You must make your UNI eLearning course available to students in order for them to have access to it. Information and directions are located in the "How do I make my eLearning/Blackboard course(s) available to students?" FAQ on the eLearning website.

Students: Use of the UNI eLearning system is based on the instructor's discretion. Although all UNI classes have an eLearning course by default, the instructor can decide whether or not to utilize it. Students must be enrolled in the class and the instructor must have made the course available in order to gain access. If you do not see a course listed, please contact the instructor of the class to see if they are using the UNI eLearning System and if they have made their eLearning course available to students.
