An eLearning system outage will occur at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011. The application servers will be shutdown at 6:00 and available again around 7:00 a.m. This maintenance is necessary to apply system patches to the application servers and upgrade license keys.

The WebCT CE8 and Blackboard Learn 9 stage and production learning management systems will not be available during this period.

UNI faculty planning to use the UNI eLearning system for fall 2011 courses who want to use an existing course as a template are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the new "Migrating to Bb Learn 9" workshops. During these workshops, you will take one of your existing eLearning classes and migrate it to the new Bb Learn 9 system. Several workshops have been added to the schedule in July and August. The Instructional Technologies team recently converted the UNI eLearning support website to Drupal. The home page continues to be www.uni.edu/elearning, however many of the subpages that pertain to Blackboard Learn 9 are being updated. Please update bookmarks and websites accordingly that link to UNI eLearning information. Questions? Use the contact eLearning support form.

An eLearning system outage will occur Wednesday, July 13, 2011. The system will be shutdown at 6:00 a.m. and available again around 7:00 A.M. This outage is necessary to perform maintenance on the application server storage system.
 
The Blackboard and WebCT stage and production learning management systems and electronic portfolio application will not be available during this period.

An eLearning system outage will occur at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The application servers will be shutdown at 6:00 and available again around 7:00 a.m. This maintenance is necessary to apply a firmware update to the application server storage system.

The WebCT CE8 and Blackboard Learn 9 stage and production learning management and electronic portfolio applications will not be available during this period.

Migrate your eLearning course to Blackboard Learn 9. UNI faculty planning to use the UNI eLearning system for fall 2011 courses who want to use an existing course as a template are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the new "Migrating to Bb Learn 9" workshops.

During these workshops you will take one of your existing eLearning classes and migrate it to the new Bb Learn 9 system. Several workshops have been added to the schedule in June and July. An eLearning system outage will occur at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. The WebCT CE8 system will be shutdown at 6:00 and available again around 7:00 A.M. This maintenance is necessary to apply server operating system patches.

The WebCT CE8 learning management and electronic portfolio applications will not be available during this period. The Blackboard Learn 9 system is not impacted by this outage.

An eLearning system outage will occur Monday, June 20, 2011. The system will be shutdown at 5:00 a.m. and available again around 6:00 A.M. This outage is necessary to perform maintenance on the storage system.

The Blackboard and WebCT learning management systems and electronic portfolio application will not be available during this period.

UNI is excited to announce the arrival of Blackboard Learn 9 (BB9) scheduled to be implemented in Fall 2011. BB9 will greatly enhance the capabilities for instructors and students by providing many new features and improvements to users of the UNI eLearning system.

Faculty may request a preview account that will provide instructor level access in a Release 9.1 course by emailing elearning@uni.edu. You can investigate Release 9.1, test the migration of your existing course, invite others to access your test course and contribute to the development of our upgrade plan.
