Summer 2013 UNI eLearning academic courses were populated with students by 7:30 AM CDT this morning, Saturday, May 4, 2013. Summer 2013 student enrollment will be imported into the UNI eLearning System daily, so all enrollment changes (adds/drops) will be automatically processed. Any changes entered in the Student Information System by 5:00 PM will be processed the following day.
UNI Instructors: Bb9 eLearning courses are created in an "unavailable" state. This means an Instructor has access to the course, but students do not see the course listed in their My Courses module until the instructor makes the course available. Instructions for making your course "available" to students are published at: http://www.uni.edu/elearning/how-do-i-make-my-bb-learn-9-courses-available-students . No action is required for instructors that choose not to use the UNI eLearning System. Note: Courses contracted through Continuing and Distance Education (CDE) will be made available by CDE staff by 8:00 AM CDT the day the class begins.
UNI Students: You will not see a course listed in your My Courses module unless the Instructor has made the eLearning course available.

An eLearning site for all Fall 2013 classes in the Campus Solutions Student Information System (SIS) are now being automatically created for the Fall 2013 semester. The UNI eLearning System receives daily updates from the SIS of course offerings and instructor assignments.
Please review your Fall 2013 eLearning course(s) and consult your department scheduler if you do not see your course(s) or your Fall 2013 course(s) are not organized correctly. An eLearning site was created for each class as entered into the SIS. Any changes made in the SIS will be imported into the UNI eLearning System the following day.
Only the user entered as "Primary Instructor" in the SIS is automatically enrolled in the eLearning course as the Instructor. If there are co-instructors or additional non-registered users that need access to the eLearning course, the primary Instructor needs to follow the directions located at: http://www.uni.edu/elearning/how-do-i-add-non-registered-user-my-elearning-courses
Fall 2013 eLearning courses will be populated with students on Monday, August 12, 2013 (tentative).

On Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM CDT, the UNI eLearning System will be unavailable for maintenance to install an application software patch and perform database maintenance.

A new login block was created on the UNI eLearning homepage to better channel users via the best authentication method. UNI and Camp Adventure users will login via the Central Authentication System (CAS) login page; the same login page for MyUNIverse and UNI Email. The benefit will be that if your CatID passphrase has expired, you will be prompted to change it. Allen College and NPPS users will login via the UNI eLearning login page as normal. If you have any questions/concerns, please use the "Contact eLearning Support" form.

Two of the most common faculty complaints are that "students don't understand plagiarism and how to avoid it" and that "grading papers is too time consuming". Faculty are invited to a professional development session from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM., Tuesday, March 26, 2013 in the Center for Multicultural Education (CME). Jason Vetter, educational technology, and Susan Hill, philsophy & world religions, will highlight turnitin, a tool to teach students about plagiarism and tips for grading papers efficiently. Refreshments will be served.
