Explanation of the June 27, 2015 Turnitin Service Disruption.
At 6:50 p.m. CDT on Monday, June 29, 2015, access to Turnitin assignments appears to have been restored.
This morning, Monday, June 29, 2015, Turnitin assignments appear to be unavailable again. We received reports that users could not access Turnitin assignments and verified that attempting to access Turnitin assignments will eventually time out. We have not received any new reports from Turnitin, but will monitor the service and post when it is available again. We apologize for the inconveniences this Turnitin service disruption has caused.
Around 9:05 p.m. CDT, it appears that access to Turnitin assignments has been restored.
Turnitin assignments in UNI eLearning (Blackboard) courses are not available for students and instructors due to a service disruption that prevented users from accessing the Turnitin.com homepage or services from approximately 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. CDT on June 27, 2015. Recovery began shortly after 11 p.m. CDT; however, Turnitin Support said it may take up to 48 hours for users to regain access to Turnitin assignments. When a user clicks on a Turnitin assignments, the connection will eventually time out after approximately 3-5 minutes.

Summer 2015 UNI eLearning academic courses were populated with students at 1:45 PM CDT this afternoon, Monday, May 5, 2015. Summer 2015 student enrollment will be imported into the UNI eLearning System daily, so all enrollment changes (adds/drops) will be automatically processed. Any changes entered in the Student Information System (SIS) by 5:00 PM will be processed the following day.
UNI Instructors: UNI eLearning courses are created in an "unavailable" state. This means an Instructor has access to the course, but students do not see the course listed in their My Courses module until the instructor makes the course available. Directions for making your course "available" to students are published at: http://www.uni.edu/elearning/how-do-i-make-my-bb-learn-9-courses-available-students . No action is required for instructors that choose not to use the UNI eLearning System. Note: Courses contracted through Continuing and Distance Education (CDE) will be made available by CDE staff by 8:00 AM CDT the day the class begins.
UNI Students: You will not see a course listed in your My Courses module unless the Instructor has made the eLearning course available.

Resolve/Workaround: Follow the steps in this support article to re-enable NPAPI plug-ins. Note: This only works on Windows Operating Systems.
In upcoming releases, Panopto will transition from Silverlight to HTML5. UNI tentatively plans to upgrade our version of Panopto this summer.
