| UNI eLearning roles are organized into two distinct groups, non-learners and learners: |

| Non-learner Roles |
- Section Instructor - This role is associated with teaching. In terms of ownership, the section instructor role has the ultimate say in a learning context, exclusive rights to content and unrestricted access to student data. Instructor rights are provided through the "Teach" tab and the Instructor Tools menu.
- primary - Name appears under UNI eLearning section title in user's My Courses list
- secondary - Name will NOT appear under UNI eLearning section title in user's My Courses list.
- Section Designer - This role is associated with the instructional design process. Designer rights are provided through the "Build" tab and the Designer Tools menu.
- Teaching Assistant - This role is best described as power student user or a limited access instructor. This role has students rights plus access to the Grade Book. For information on Teaching Assistant settings, please visit: Teaching Assistant Settings

| * Facutly that request an UNI eLearning section are automatically enrolled as a primary Section Instructor and Section Designer into that section. |
| |
| Learner Roles |
- Student - Replicated in the Instructor's "Student View" tab and provided the My Tools menu.
- Auditor - Student role that does no have impact on the Grade Book. Typically used for students auditing a course in a no credit situation or for guest access.
