The Blackboard/WebCT ePortfolio system allows you to collect and organize artifacts of various forms of media (such as text, images, video, audio) in a digital environment. These artifacts can be organized in a number of ways to demonstrate learning over time, to share your skills with potential employers, to demonstrate mastery of program requirements or standards (such as teaching standards). It’s a very flexible tool and you as a portfolio owner would have full control of what is put into your eportfolio, inviting guests to view your eportfolio, and selectively choosing which artifacts in your eportfolio to share with each guest.

Product Lifescycle

Due to a lack of development and improvements to the Blackboard/WebCt Portfolio product, on April 3, 2009 the UNI E-Portfolio Advisory Council (EPAC) recommended conducting a review of other ePortfolio products. All ePortfolio users should be aware the ePortfolio service will continue; however, the current ePortfolio application will not be available beyond July 2011. ePortfolio owners and designers should carefully analyze the organization and exportability of artifacts added to the ePortfolio system. The following timeline has been established as a guide for the ePortfolio transition.
